Sample Questions and Answers

Cue Card
Describe a book that you enjoyed reading.
You should say
➧ What the book was about
➧ When you read it
➧ Why you enjoyed it
➧ What impact it had on you

Sample Answer
One of the books I thoroughly enjoyed reading was 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee. The story is set in the American South during the 1930s and explores themes of racial injustice and moral growth. I read it last summer as part of my literature class, and it left a lasting impression on me. What I enjoyed most about the book was the way it portrayed complex social issues through the eyes of a child. The character of Atticus Finch, who stands up for what is right despite societal pressure, was particularly inspiring to me. This book taught me about the importance of empathy and standing up for others, even when it's difficult.
