Introduction and Interview Questions
Part 1 Duration:
4-5 minutes.
Format:
Examiner asks questions about familiar topics such as your home, family, work, studies, and interests.
Objective:
To assess your ability to communicate effectively about everyday topics.
Common Topics
Home:
Describe your home. What do you like about it?
Work/Studies:
What do you do? Why did you choose this profession/field of study?
Hobbies:
What are your hobbies? How often do you engage in them?
Daily Routine:
What is your typical day like?
Food:
What is your favorite food? Do you enjoy cooking?
Strategies for Success
Extend Your Answers:
Aim to speak for at least 2-3 sentences per answer.
Be Clear and Concise:
Avoid long-winded responses; stick to the point.
Use a Variety of Vocabulary:
Try to incorporate different words and phrases.
Stay Relaxed and Natural:
Speak as if you’re having a conversation with a friend.
Example:
When answering questions, provide brief examples to support your responses.

1: Where are you from?
I’m from a small town called Harrogate, located in the north of England. It’s known for its beautiful gardens and historic architecture.
2: Do you work or study?
I’m currently a university student, studying business management. I chose this field because I’ve always been interested in how businesses operate and how I can contribute to their success.
3: What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy reading books, especially mystery novels. I also like to go for long walks in the park to relax and clear my mind.
4: Do you enjoy cooking?
Yes, I do. I find cooking very therapeutic, and I love experimenting with different recipes, especially Italian cuisine.
