The Bee Life Cycle

Bees go through complete metamorphosis | 4 stages


1. Egg

The queen bee lays eggs in honeycomb cells
Eggs are very tiny and white
Hatch in about 3 days

2. Larva

Looks like a small white worm
Cannot see or fly
Worker bees feed it

3. Pupa

Inside a sealed cell
The bee is changing
  ➧ growing wings, legs
No movement outside

4. Adult Bee

Fully grown bee
Can fly and work
Jobs depend on type
